How Do I get Started?

Once you have decided that the Skystream™ is right for you, here are the steps you need to take before installation can begin:

1. Contact your local municipality and find out what ordinances, if any, they may have for residential wind turbines.
2. Mention that the Skystream™ is designed to fit within most required height ordinances.
3. Ask the local municipality if building codes apply. The Skystream™ foundations go deeper than the 42" frost line. Because of this, many municipalities will require a permit. Some municipalities may charge for this permit and some may not. Some officials may require additional information, and TRE will gladly send, fax, or email them any additional documentation that they require. Provide your municipality with Trehab Renewable Energy's contact information.
4. The next step is determining the proper location for your Skystream™ (visit "What is a site evaluation"). When we come out to do an on-site assessment (this is after we have already established feasibility via GPS), there is a charge of $100.00 that will be deducted from the total cost when the contract is finalized. This offer is good for 6 months (so order your turbine within that time frame). If your location does not meet good siting criteria, there is no charge.
5. If we are ready to order and all of the above is completed, we will take your meter number and account number and apply for the utility interconnect. Any charge for interconnect will be the full responsibility of Trehab. We will work with your utility company to be in compliance with their regulations as we hook into their grid.
6. At signing of contract, we will request 67% of the total cost. This will start the process of ordering parts, working with the interconnect agreements, and scheduling contractors. We can email or fax you our contract ahead of time so that you can read it and familiarize yourself with it.

Good! That was Step #1; complete with the onsite assessment and the contract signing. Now we are ready to go to Step #2, which will be getting the excavator and electrician to your location for their assessment and scheduling of the foundation (all part of the total).
