Learn about site evaluation"Do I have enough wind?"This is the first and most asked question when it comes to purchasing a wind turbine. Wind is the fuel for your generator. You should have at least a 9 MPH average wind speed at your location. There are several websites you can visit to help you determine the answer. To find a wind map for your state, go to Skystream's resource page Just fill in your zip code, press Go, then click on "Wind map" (below the go button). "Will my property be a good place to install a Skystream™?"Siting a wind generator is extremely important to the performance of the machine. It is the difference between a machine that gives you lots of energy and a lawn ornament. The ideal location for a wind turbine is 20 feet above any surrounding object within a 350-450 foot radius. This generally means your property should be at least one acre in size.
